Vedic astrology vs other systems: why we use Vedic
Vedic astrology (Jyotish) uses the sidereal zodiac, which is calibrated to the actual positions of stars as seen from Earth. Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which is fixed to the seasons and has drifted about 23 degrees from the actual sky over the past 2,000 years. For predictive timing work, especially career, marriage and health timing, Vimshottari dasha (the planetary period system unique to Vedic astrology) is the most specific and time-tested tool available.
All Vyom Vaani astrologers are trained in Vedic astrology with the Parashari system as the foundation. They are not card readers, numerologists or sun-sign columnists. They read charts.
Is online astrology as good as in-person?
For a written birth chart reading, online is the same as in-person: the chart is what it is, and the astrologer reads it regardless of physical proximity. Jyotish is a textual, mathematical system. A skilled astrologer does not need to see your face or feel your energy to read your chart correctly.
The only genuine limitation of online consultation is time zones for real-time chat: if you need a response within an hour, please message during Indian business hours (9 AM to 9 PM IST). Messages sent outside these hours are addressed the next working day.

What if I do not know my exact birth time?
An approximate time (morning, afternoon, evening) is enough for most predictive work using the Vimshottari dasha system, since the dasha is calculated from the Moon's position (which changes sign only every 2.5 days). The exact birth time matters more for ascendant-specific readings. We can work with uncertain times and will tell you where the uncertainty affects the reading.
What languages do you offer astrology chat in?
English and Hindi. Consultations can be mixed-language: many clients send questions in Hindi and receive responses in English, or vice versa. Whichever combination is clearest for you works for us.
